Overview

Responsible for maximizing the netback value and flow assurance for company’s natural gas, natural gas liquids and oil production. This role works closely with Operations, Business Development and Planning personnel, and establishes external contacts to facilitate the development of sales, transport and related arrangements with creditworthy counterparties.

Responsibilities

 



  • Develops strategies and processes for coordinated marketing efforts to ensure flow, manage daily balances, and ultimate monetization of production in alignment with company’s long-term plans and corporate compliance

  • Manages the negotiation, preparation, and administration of all commodity sales, transportation and gathering and processing agreements

  • Develop and execute plans to ensure capacity for flow assurance at optimal pricing and services

  • Assist Accounting to ensure all sales are documented and in conformity with contractual terms for accounting and auditing purposes

  • Works with internal finance/planning groups to assist in budget and forecasting efforts

  • Identify and calculate NPVs of market alternatives (pipeline and customer)

  • Ensure wells are connected in a timely manner

  • Identify opportunities to optimize compression performance/costs.

  • Identify and evaluate strategic options to improve netback pricing

  • Communicate with Pipelines and Operations to minimize downtime

  • Coordinate with the Business Unit any operational issues affecting commercial arrangements related to field activities and coordinate all aspects of production flow assurance

  • Communicate pricing arrangements to corporate for SEC reporting assist upstream asset acquisition evaluations

  • Assist management in developing near and long-term business plans

  • Determine daily volume availability and prepare nominations for sales of natural gas and/or oil, if applicable

  • Evaluate and negotiate the elimination of imbalances (lease and pipeline)

  • Ensure all sales of oil, gas and NGLs produced from non-operated properties are negotiated with the operators and/or purchasers to ensure timely sales for the best price

  • Complete briefs of all purchase and gathering contracts and summarize

  • Maintain contracts files in digital format

  • Provide assistance to Accounting to ensure that payments from Purchasers are proper and in conformity with contractual terms.

  • Establish new business relationships and maintain ongoing industry relationships with broad understanding of peers, service providers, and competitors: recommends opportunities to leverage relationships for value propositions

  • Provide data support for litigation or dispute defense

  • Work with Treasury to quantify and control credit exposure to Purchasers

  • Provide marketing considerations and marketing data to assess the impact of marketing considerations on acquisition and divestiture economics

  • Provide analysis to support hedging activities

  • Provide ad hoc market analysis as may be required

  • Complete other assignments as requested by the Vice President of Marketing

Qualifications

 



  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and ten years of direct experience in gas marketing or industry experience

  • Strong negotiation and research skills

  • Experience in acquisitions and divestitures

  • Must have broad knowledge of E&P, oil and gas accounting, marketing

  • Must have thorough knowledge of midstream and downstream business in a variety of oil and gas producing states (OK and TX preferred), including governmental regulations and oil and gas law.

  • Ability to manage customers and develop positive relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to negotiate sales, processing, and transportation arrangements

  • Ability to provide guidance and supervision to Marketing Analysts

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office PC programs.
