Responsibilities

Provide reservoir engineering expertise across a broad base of conventional assets. Maximize NPV by building inventory, drill and recompletes, waterflood identification or enhancement, support strategic acquisitions and coordinate budgeting and reserves processes. Evaluate the Company’s oil and gas assets to which he/she is assigned for further development through workovers, drilling, assisted recovery and enhanced recovery

 

Serve as project leader of multi-disciplinary technical teams based on broad knowledge of reservoir engineering. Develop realistic schedules, budgets, cost estimates and economic evaluations for projects that he/she develops. Interface with operations personnel – asset managers, production engineers, etc. and with reserves evaluation staff inside and outside the Company. Serve on evaluation teams for potential acquisitions in relevant geographic areas. Coordinate annual reserves, budget processes, and updates. Serve as coach/mentor for less experienced engineers and technical assistants.

 

Develop and present detailed project plans for engineering projects in a timely manner. Research and present alternatives for addressing development opportunities. Work with asset managers and geologists to develop investment opportunities or solve operational problems. Periodically create presentations to update management on results and/or explain why the goals have not been met. Keep current on new technologies by additional classes, participating in industry or professional events etc. Help implement new technology or software. Lead internal teams to develop and implement new procedures and processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in petro-technical support, petro-related engineering, reservoir engineering, and enhanced oil recovery asset engineering or any occupation in which the required experience was gained.
  • At least 12 months of experience in engineering and industry specific software, such as Aries, Well View, etc
